When Bernie talks about girls, he keeps calling them "broad"! What the heck does that mean? What is broad?

A mostly obsolete slang word for a woman. It is mildly to moderately derogatory. Look for it in 1930's and 1940's ganster movies.

at the christmas party the boss dressed as santa comes over to her, she passionately touches his face then tells him to get away from her. why would she lead him on like that ? secondly when the boyfriend comes up in the elevator, she introduces the boss & the boyfriend tries to attack him, was that not insane to anyone else ?
