shooting locations in Chicago

Has anyone here walked the locations they used in Chicago when shooting the film. I've done it a number of times and will definately be going again for the (i can hardly believe) 20th anniversary. It is amazing how the scenes come back to you when seeing the shooting spot in person. Many of them are obvious (grant park softball fields, wrigley field, wacker drive) but I even happened on the spot where Danny smashes Bernie's whiskey bottle and gets the "never lose your sense of humor" line.

If you can get to Chicago, its a fun walking tour in a great city.

Hey Tower,

yeah chicago is awesome.
I live in australia so not sure when i will be going back, soon i hope.

So to see the locations you go on a tour??
How do you find out about the tour if there is one??

I am pumped now, and to think i am watching the movie right now.
I paused it when debbie moves out of dans apartment.

If you could give me info that would be great!

There is no tour that I'm aware of, but I have all the locations and can provide them to anyone who is interested. I'll put together a map with scene locations marked that i can email.

Does anyone have the press kit from the original release of the movie? I bought one on ebay and it's very cool. It contains a booklet that describes the film and bios of the director and actors, a number of 8x10 glossy photos, and some other materials.

Because I was there to see the shooting, I also purchased a copy of the shooting script, which is interesting because you can see the improv lines the cast used.

I think it's funny that the bar they hung out in was called "Mothers" (actually "Mother Malone's") when the real Mothers is right up the street from what was (and may still be; I haven't been to Chicago in quite some time) The Snuggery (where much of "Nothing in Common" was shot), and down the block from Shenanigan's. The logo of Mothers was (or, is...like I said, it's been a while) a big red heart and can be seen in the scene where Danny and Debbi are standing out in front of the bar in the rain. God, I miss Chicago!
