One of the most affecting scenes is when Debbie is trying to convince her boss—and, without knowing it, herself—how much in love she and Danny are. The scene—and film in general—plays so beautifully and realistically. I’ve always considered ‘About Last Night…’ to be Demi Moore’s finest hour. Rob Lowe’s too, for that matter.

Couldn't agree more. Moore was gorgeous and gave a very natural, genuine performance. Watched it last night for the first time in years and the film is still terrific. Enjoyed it when first released in 86' and was surprised that I still enjoy it now. An excellent script, that had me laughing out loud at some of the quips and dialog, with interesting characters and realistic relationship themes, still relevant today. Well directed, with nice filming locations around Chicago. 1986 was a great year for films.
Couldn't agree more. Great film, great script, great acting. The chemistry between Moore and Lowe is so there, so natural. One of the most underrated films of the 80's. I almost threw up when I heard about the remake; which I refuse to watch as I know it's going to be a big pile of $h/t.
That is an amazing moment in the movie and only second for me along with the scene where she and Danny go to the kitchen after having made love. They are giggling about the neighbor most likely having heard them and Danny remarks how beautiful she looks in the light coming through the window. It always gets me how she says "Danny" in this almost embarrassed way that you get when someone looks at you so significantly and then you see her expression when she realizes she feels LOVE and the way her mouth works as she almost cannot bring herself to say those oh so incredibly important/life changing three words. That get's me every time.
Just saw that very scene and I completely agree. The way she hesitates...gets me. And then the little tear that rolls down her cheek as they hold each other. Perfect.
Great post and I agree! Just watched this movie for the 50 billionth time and in tears (per usual when I watch this). The end scene especially gets me. The acting in this is phenomenal. My favorite movie.
