Steve Pastore was supposedly going to publish a new book entitled "Helene Hanff, A Life". While the title seems to be wafting around, no one has it or can get it, and most have no even heard of it. That's so sad. Here's hoping Mr. Pastore gets the book out there or republished~~~or anyway, let's have that book, PLEASE!

One thing we agree on, though: Whether or not it book was ever published, this book needs to be available!
Well, if anyone is keeping track, _Helene Hanff: A Life_ came out in Dec. 2010. Very thin and It'll never be on the World's top 100 Biographies list, but it made it into print

You are absolutely right, jemoore964----the book was awful, filled with hearsay and innuendoes, many of the things Mr. Pastore just plain made up! I talked on-line with a woman who had been friends with Helene Hanff for a few years before Miss Hanff passed away, and who has been in touch over the years with folks who were close acquaintances of Helene's; they filled in many bits and pieces of this feisty author's life, and this woman was furiouswith Mr. Pastore's so-called "biography", saying it was nothing but garbage (and worse!). I own the book, out of curiosity, and once in a great while, I'll look at it for it's comic value, and nothing more!
