shareClose, it was a 65.
worth losing the bet! thanks - I have loved that car ever since seeing it on this show. Someday (such as after winning the lottery [snort] I am going to get one of those. Should be comical - a little old blue haired lady zipping around on I95 with the staties doing a Smoky and the Bandit highway chase.
shareI loved the series so much, I got a personalized plate with the number most seen the the car...
EGW-769
Actually, I seem to recall that he drove a split-window coupe, and the only year the Stingray had the split rear window was 1963.

Not a split window. Also, don't forget the ad he would leave in the paper said "65 Stingray for sale"
I sure wish it and more of the 1980s TV series were available. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stingray_(NBC_TV_series)
