You can buy the Starman TV series dvds at:

Thanks for the lead. I found that gold monkey sells the entire series on 4 dvd's for $19.95 total. Thistle hill media sells them 2 episodes per dvd for $15 each, or $90 for the entire series (commercial free). Has anyone gotten the dvd's from either of these two companies - why the big difference in price? Is there a big difference in quality? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Linda
shareI got the entire series from goldmonkey.com. All episodes have commercials, the quality is pretty decent, although each disc has 6 eps on it. The EP mode makes it skip occasionally. All the episodes are in original airdate order and are from the original ABC airings 9not syndicated sci-fi channel cuts). I would prefer the eps didn't have commercials and prefer them recorded on a slower speed, but all in all am happy with them. For $20 for a series that will most likely never be officially released on DVD you can't go wrong. All the eps are watchable and I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I would never have spent $90 for the entire series for off air recordings.

I have episodes "The Gift" and "Starscape." January 23, 06 I have watched most of my tapes again and found that the Starscape episode is when Paul/Starman sees the painting done by Jenny Hayden and is aware that it is a painting of where he comes from. Then he does get to her place with the help of Lainie. But, most of mine were taped during the run of the series and are not perfectly clear. Sometimes there are breaks and lines and gray stuff. But, mostly they are okay. I really treasure them. I sort of disagree with the evaluation someone wrote about the series. I think that it did follow the movie pretty well. The writers used important things in the TV series so as to make it match up. I really like it that Starman Paul is kind, sensitive, gentle, and manly. I see how the slip up in the years between the two visits bothers some people but they must have watched it several times to pick up all the mistakes. I would also like to have more episodes. I may be missing two or one and the one of the Christmas one where Paul Forrester's Mom is visited and dies is my favorite one and yet my tape has quite a few interferences of blips and glitches. I will count mine tonight. Last night I watched the Christmas one when (Starman) Paul goes to be with his Mother The Gift and the one in which Paul spends a loving night with Jennie Starscape II. Scott almost gets to see Jennie Hayden, his mother. I have a lot of the episodes. Which one is your favorite?

i want that set w/ commercials (original airing) but the goldmonkey link doesn't work anymore anybody know where i can buy it these days ? or is someone willing to sell his?
Try emailing the email address for the person who runs the site (goldmonkey.com) and ask the person who runs it where you can get it.
I recently remembered this show -- got the movie on DVD (which was defective and didn't run the LAST SCENE!) and went hunting for the TV Series which I only vaguely remember.
So I, too, am looking for new DVD's of this series.

I have the complete series on DVD from the original run on ABC with commercials. This was the set that goldmonkey used to sell.
BIG WHIT!
I'd like to know which episode was filmed in Santa Barbara because I was living there at the time.

This was the episode "Fathers and Sons" (episode 19) which happens to be the very first Starman TV episode I saw in Germany back in 1988 on the American Forces Network TV station (AFN) and this episode got me "hooked".
Later, I traveled to Santa Barbara numerous times on the occasion of attending the L.A.-based Starman Family Conventions, a few years ago with my wife and we even got our wedding certificate from the authorities at Santa Barbara :-)
I don't know whether you're into downloading torrents but I got all torrents for download in very good quality.
shareI have downloaded the entire series. If you are the kind of person that has no problem with downloading torrents, then I think I can help.
