Do they even make shows like this anymore?
Obviously on the Internet...
lol...
But this seems like a golden goose.
It's hard to imagine how easy and cheap a television program like this is to produce.

There are so many film review channels on You Tube, as an example, that it would not really be unique enough to be a "golden goose".
sharelol. Nobody watches them. They aren't mentioned.
The film nerd geek "angry" guy was a decade ago.
Nothing ever came from that.
What are they?
Mostly now seems to be relegated to genre categories...70s Italian horror...Kung Fu movies...etc
shareThat's awful. And stupid. Syndicated shows are the cheapest to produce and easiest to sell.
Gene and Roger were likeable enough.
This is my favorite cheap show https://youtu.be/On1b2TCbnUc
shareYT review channels are mostly about the taste of the reviewers. They don't have a professional background and don't try to provide an analysis because they couldn't. "Hey, I'm your friend and I liked this" is the usual angle. It's more like an additional person on your couch.
As for similar shows on linear TV/radio: Mark Kermode (BBC)
Likes and dislikes and viral videos and amateur videos.
I hate everything Youtube that isn't copyrighted.
Youtube was the Internet website superstar built on the house of copyrights.
It doesn't require "a professional background" or credential to review movies. You can watch a movie, think about why you liked it or why you didn't, and discuss it. So can I.
shareI don't get it. Stick a camera in front of two film critics and syndicate it already.
...
For me film criticism died when Siskel and Ebert left this earth. There are so many YouTube channels out there reviewing movies that it’s kind of replaced it.
