I hate when this show does themes. Just give me a regular list without the gimmicks trying to be funny.

I'm surprised at some of their selections. I have Whatever Works here but haven't seen it. From what I saw it got generally good reviews.

Away We Go was prasied by so many as one of the bests of the year. (I haven't see it)

Interesting.

I would also add Little Ashes because I thought that was a pretty good film.

It was interesting that they went back to categories, like they did for several years prior to 2003. Wonder why they did that? And do you even remember half these titles? I don't remember Beer in Hell (good title) or Law Abiding Citizen.

reply

I don't like categories either, but (and I don't know if this is why they did it) with recent Top 10 lists of the year and of the decade, I think another list would have been kinda dull television.

Angels & Demons - Decent
Departures - haven't seen this but IMDB users love it.
Whatever Works - haven't seen this but hear its good.
Away We Go - Heard nothing but good things about this.

WTF?

Where's X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Thats one of the biggest disappointments of the year. Where's G.I. Joe? How about Paul Blart or Observe and Report?Terminator Salvation? These guys have really bad taste.

"Girl, I like penis."
- Lance Bass

Where's G.I. Joe?
I was wondering the same thing. Transformers 2 wasn't very good, by any means, but it was certainly better than G.I. Joe.

Nice to see everyone agrees.

Yes I have no clue what some of these titles are either. And I always DVR this show each week. Makes me wonder if some got lost in the shuffle by me or if they weren't reviewed by the two Ben's during the year. Also I know there was like 2-3 weeks when At The Movies was in reruns before Phillips and Scott took over too.

The show returned here to Detroit last night after a few weeks of being pulled all around. I called the station and they told me they were working a new contract with the show. Things were resloved for now, but the contract is only good until Nov. They claim the ratings were good but I really have to wonder.

In my mind, for all those that said "Get Rid of the Ben's", I says "Be careful what you wish for."

I'm surprised Phillips didn't pick Did You Hear About the Morgans? as his worst movie of the year. He gave Did You Hear About the Morgans? 0/4, while he gave The Ugly Truth, which he picked as his worst of the year, 1.5/4.

"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" shouldn't belong to the worst movie list. I thought that movie has the pertensel of a lot of high-quality animated Family films (Unlike The Trumpet of The Swan). Scott gave more word about it when the Duo talk about "Family Film" & He still has the urge to bash the movie in it's entirty (Ok if Scott didn't like it).

Surprised the "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" never made it to the worst film list & I havn't seen PB:MC (but I already know Paul Blart: Mall Cop is Terrible).

Ebert never put "Shark Tale" in the worst of 04, Ben M. never put "Igor" in the worst of 08, yet Scott manage to put "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" in the worst of 09............

That's messed up (even if it's ok)

Watchmen and Little Ashes? Really?

Both great movies.

Also, there are many more worse films than a lot of these they chose. I didn't thik 17 Again was that bad either. Sue me.

Gleeks rule!

I actually enjoyed Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Watchmen, Transformers, and (to an extent) Old Dogs.

Weird is the new normal.

I loved 17 Again. I wouldn't say it was an amazing movie or anything, but there are far worse teen movies.
