Sad the Show's Ending, But Can't Say I'm Surprised

I personally liked Philips and Scott, but one thing they always had working against them was that they're two stiff, awkward intellectual men, while Siskel and Ebert, in their heyday, each came off like "just one of the guys." Occasionally Scott may throw in some quips and Philips will make a little joke at Scott's expense, but this is nothing. Siskel and Ebert had a classic banter that no one else could replicate.

The problem I think was this. They really changed the show after Richard left in 2008. They changed the balcony set, which didn't make it look like they were in a theater. Also, you never saw them watching clips, which made it more realistic. And without the thumbs, it just didn't fly. They should've kept Richard and if Roger couldn't come back, have Michael Phillips do the show. They had great chemistry at the end of the run.
