A.O. Scott's reason for disliking Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

A.O. Scott's reason for disliking Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs has to be the lamest, wimpiest excuse for disliking a movie since Ebert disliking Happy Gilmore because, and I quote:

"Happy doesn't seem very happy. He keeps beating people up, throwing temper tantrums and throwing people through windows." (Ever heard of IRONY, Ebert?)

I remember the review, and all he said was that is was gross to see all the food on the big screen. Nothing about the story or if it was funny. Just that statement.

Personally, I thought it was one of the best films of '09. It wasn't better than Up or Mr. Fox, but it was very funny and thoroughly entertaining.

Weird is the new normal.

I'm surprised they didn't put "Fired Up!", "Confessions of a Shopaholic" "Bride Wars" or even "Miss March" on the list. Now, those are the worst ones!

I cannot believe Ebert didn't put Shark Tale on the list of worst of '04 and Mank didn't put Igor on the list of wort of '08, but Scott put Cloudy on the worst of '09.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs doesn't deserve the title of worst animated film. Shark Tale and Igor should be title worst animated film ever. Cloudy also has what those "bombs" don't have (a heart).

Sorry for the honesty, In my defense:

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs should of been the best animated film of all time. I'm just glad I claimed it best film of the decade.

Roger didn't hate Shark Tale that much. He gave it two stars.

Yeah, he put it on the Worst of 2009 show. I didn't hate the film that much, but didn't think it was a masterpiece, either. Yeah, there are a lot of people with eating disorders, but this film isn't trying to make fun of that.
