Thank Christ, Elvis Mitchell looked terrible in the pilot. Even further, I don't see this show working out very well. Honestly, I think Phillips and Scott were very good, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up getting their own show again.

I was so excited to see this show returning. Got to see the pilot and thought it had potential. I did think there were too many co-hosts with special segments and one of those could have been cut. Like the guy with the segment about the internet's impact on movies.
Now I have to say I'm not looking forward to this thanks to the new kid. Oh I've been a fan of this show in all of its formats since the 80s so I'll still watch. But I can't see a kid no one has heard of with a name hard to pronounce setting the show's ratings on fire. And here everyone ripped on Ben Lyons. LOL.
Even with it on PBS, it still seems like the typical new Hollywood rules for a show. Make the cast young and attractive and forget about actual quality talent.
Lemire's been around for awhile. But I don't really think that casting either of them is "Hollywood rules". Were they picked to "bring the young, edgy crowd" or because Ebert et al were impressed with their work? What's ultimately the difference between putting two 60 year olds who know their stuff or two 30 year olds who know their stuff?
