Will it be back or can we access somewhere else?
Or better yet anyone know how to get old episodes on dvd or download? Thanx.

I know! I was so gutted to see the page was down (the link I had bookmarked is http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenavista/ebertandroeper/balcony.htm l)

I really hope the video reviews have been archived somewhere else, there are quite a few on YouTube, but not all of them.

I predicted back in Aug that the website would be taken down by Christmas. I did copy a lot of reviews but I only got the late 80's/early 90's. It was a lot of work but now I wish I would have stuck with it and copied everything.

I sure hope it's not gone for good. It's among my favorite sites and I consider those reviews to be priceless. Siskel and Ebert were and always will be the greatest film reviewers of all time.

I'm pretty sure the site is gone for good. The only advertising they had at the end was "Regis and Kelly" and Disney has no financial incentive to keep it online. I'm just glad I was able to copy most of the big reviews like Schindler's List, Platoon, Cop and a Half, Sling Blade, Saving Private Ryan, etc.

Funny, I think the site with archived reviews was only up for about 3 or 4 years. All that work into something and now it's gone. Who would have thought Disney would ever turn into this?

Considering how excited Roger Ebert was about the reviews going online, do you think he will help support a website to put the reviews back on the Internet? I'm sure he's wealthy enough to buy back the master tapes and if not, well, maybe Oprah can help or something.

I never thought about Roger buying the archives but I guess its possible. This kind of reminds me when Howard Stern bolted for Sirius, I think he got all his archives from CBS radio for 2 million.

Anyway, like I said it's possible but I have a feeling we're going to be without the archives for a long, long time. Roger didn't leave Disney on the best of terms and it's almost a given that a lot of those Disney people - possibly young, immature, and mean spirited interns - wouldn't lift a finger to help Roger with anything.

It's a shame as it was so nice to do a search on practically any review from 1986. Now that it's gone it makes me realize what a great treasure they really are.

Gladi I wasn't the only one that noticed. I am not sure why the site is down, I have to wonder if since the show was canceled, it was tme to bring the site down. But why not just leave it up, so people can see all the reviews. And it wouln't be doubtful that anybody would have on tape all episodes recorded.

Here are some 80s video reviews. Enjoy!

I am sure when the new At the Movies show begins in January with Elvis Mitchell and Christy Lemire, it will have a web site with the Siskel and Ebert archives.

I am trying to put up a website with Siskel & Ebert shows at http://www.siskel-ebert.org/. I am changing the site design around Thanksgiving so it may be down for a few days. A friend of mine and I have permission from the Tribune to put up the pre-Disney shows in their entirety. I believe WTTW (PBS) is onboard as well. Hopefully we can acquire the Disney shows as well (one can dream)!

Thanks for the info Larry.

I have changed the web address as follows: http://siskelandebert.org/. The other site will close in February 15 2011. We already have old shows up that have never been posted before. Check it out!

That's a great site. Thanks for putting it up. It's been quite a while since the original archive went down, but it just struck me now to look at the IMDb page. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one upset over the loss, and I'm happy about this new site.

I don't think anybody has mentioned this, but I have seen reviews from all difenret eras even if Siskel & Ebert up on Youtube, all you have to do is search for a movie review, and just hope somebody downloaded their movie review that you want. But I doubt even anytime soon, or at all that any of the epsiodes will be releeased on dvd, so yuo can go and look now.

I am so pissed off that they took that site down. I always went there after watching a movie to see their take. So many classic reviews gone, I am really let down by this.

That's a lot of video taken done for no reason. I will try to contact Chaz Ebert to see if she is interested in getting another site with ALL of their reviews put up.
