What happened to Grendel on the episode "Lights, Camera & Haunting!"?

We've never gotten to see what happens to Grendel at the end of the episode "Lights, Camera & Haunting", it's like once you see the hero ghosts they didn't know what to do with Grendel which I've thought was disappointing.

I know he was in Extreme Ghostbusters.
