In my honest opinion I think that Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker should do films because they could be the next Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis! They work that well together in front of the camera. Oh I even forgot that they could be the next Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor films as well. Does everyone agree with me?
That would have been a good idea about fifteen years ago when the series was still fresh in people's minds, but those two guys have all but disappeared. I did see Bronson in True Romance and late episodes of Step by Step. According to his filmography he's been working, but it's almost entiely one-off TV episodes. I saw Mark on episodes of Ally McBeal and Full House, but I don't remember anything else he did post-Perfect Strangers. The series isn't even in syndication in the markets where I live. Today's teenagers weren't even born when this show ended in 1993, they're more interested in comedy teams like Ben Stiller and Jack Black or Will Ferrell and Steve Carell.
Being inconsistent is better than being consistently bad.
Yes it would have been a great idea like you said about 15 or possibly 20 years ago when Perfect Strangers was popular. Yes they have disappeared all right. I have also seen Mr. Pincho in Surreal Life, Board Head, and some low budget B movies. Yes Mr. Pinchot did the last season of Step By Step just as he was coming off from Perfect Strangers after it went off the air. Now I notice that ABC has the tendency to have a popular show last for quite sometime and then when they want to get some new show on they will get rid of the show by trading it to CBS. They did this with Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, and Step By Step giving those shows to CBS. What does CBS do to the shows? They altered some of the qualities that made you love watching the show by making it worse. Now Mark Linn Baker did make a few appearances on Family Matters but as a different character though instead of Cousin Larry. I figured that since Family Matters was a spin-off of Perfect Strangers that Cousin Larry and Balki would be making appearances on the show from time to time to help boost ratings.
I honestly think that it would have been interesting to see Balki and Steve Urkel in a scene together. I am sure we would have gotten some laughs out of it all right.
The problems with todays youths is that they do not know what real good entertainment is. Home Improvement was around at the time when some of todays younger generation was just being born and TBS, NBC, WGN, or any other major network has that showing in reruns along with Full House which I am sick of watching! There are some 80's shows that I was like a preteen or a teenager that I loved watching and think that todays kids would enjoy that but the problem is they do not know real entertainment at all. All they care about is reality shows now and crime and drama shows.
The last time that I saw Perfect Strangers in reruns and it did not last very long was when the old USA Network before it was bought out by NBC and they altered their programming was in the late 90's. Perfect Strangers were shown in reruns for a short time on there and then removed immediately after I found that USA Network was showing it in reruns.
Yes they are funny as a duo together. The problem is that they have not worked together in a while though. I liked the show when they were doing Perfect Strangers and it is a shame that ABC got rid of it. CBS like usual picked up the show and then did some things to change the show. They did that with Step By Step and Family Matters as well because Urkel when he was on ABC he had his suspenders but the minute CBS took over the show they got rid of the suspenders.
I ma not sure about them doing movies together but Bronson Pinchot did do movies even before landing his role on this TV series, he even was in the movie Risky Business his character's name is Barry. And here are the two actors imdb.com pages http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001621/ and http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0513021/ , Mark Linn-Baker has been pretty much of a TV/stage actor he really hasn't done a list of movies. I don't think that they have an interest in reuniting and doing a bunch of movies together like Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. But you do list a lot of old actors, and even to be honest I don't know if Mark Linn Baker has even an interest to doing movies anyways.
Yes I remember Bronson Pinchots works in earlier films prior to doing the role as cousin Balki on the hit TV show Perfect Strangers. He even worked in the Beverly Hills Cop films. It is a shame that they do not want to work together any longer. I am surprised that they have not done a reunion for the Perfect Strangers show yet. It has been a long time since I have seen them do anything for the show. Of course the last time I saw the TV show on was when it was showing in the early 90's on the WB network I think it was and it failed once it was traded to CBS. I do not know why ABC continues to trade their hit shows to CBS hoping one of the new shows that they have to replace one of their hits shows with will catch on. CBS has also done this with NBC before as well with Valerie's Family which later changed to The Hogan Family. Other ABC hit shows that was traded to CBS that did not last very long were Step By Step and Family Matters which was a spinoff from Perfect Strangers. Another show that NBC traded to CBS was Unsolved Mysteries because the show originally aired on NBC in the mid 80's and ran until the early 90's. All of these shows once they switched over to CBS failed because they never told their loyal fans what was going on.
Plus, when a lot of these shows switched over to CBS I might have been interested in watching another show that was on at the same time slot that CBS selected to run these shows in. I was a fan of Valerie/Valerie's Family/Hogans/Hogan Family up until they moved it to CBS and I some what lost interest in watching the show since it no longer followed ALF on NBC any longer. Plus, once these shows made its move to CBS I do not remember proper commercials for the show to get the fans to tune into the show to watch it on CBS.
