One Of The Best Theme Songs Of All-Time

I am not being ironic at all either.

The lyrics/music really sum up what it was like to be alive in the 80's as a child. There was so much hope, happiness, and optimism that is sadly lacking in the 21st century.

One of the very few TV intros that always moves my heart when I hear it.

Try not to take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.

I agree it's a wonderful theme. The shot of Balki on the boat and Larry leaving home for Chicago full of optimism set to the fantastic theme song.

Rain and thunder wind and rain I'm bound for better days..ahhhhh it's my life my dream nothing's gonna stop me now.....

Definitely agreed. They managed to put emotions into the theme song. Plus, it described the theme of the show as well.

Agreed. Excellent theme song. Who wrote/performed it? Was it Gary Portnoy? He did everything else I liked.

reply

David Pomeranz sang it, great song!

reply

Agreed. This is still on of my favorite theme songs.

One of my all time favorites!

reply

Agreed, totally. There were so many wonderful theme songs during the 80's, most of which could start your day with a smile. But then these shows always made me smile. None of the current comedies do.
