I seem to remember an episode from late in the series that established that Larry and Balki weren't actually cousins. Does anyone remember this? But then they decided that even if they weren't technically related, they were still cousins, in their hearts?
shareI don't remember this at all. I remember they were distantly related- "So we are related by rumor" but I don't remember anything that said they actually weren't.
shareYeah, I know that the relationship as presented in the first episode was pretty convoluted as is, but I could have sworn there was an episode where they discovered whatever relationship they thought they had wasn't even true. There needs to be a perfect stranger wiki or episode guide detailing all of this stuff.

And I still love the show to this day.

I remember Balki telling Larry "You're 1/64th Myposian." So they're 1/64th cousins.
shareThey were very, very distant cousins. If memory serves me right, Balki explained the relationship in the first episode. It was a "mother's brother's cousin's cousin's sister's son" type of situation.

He did explain it in the first episode, but I thought there was a much later episode where it turned out that relationship wasn't even correct.

No, there was never an episode that said they were not really cousins. The distant/convoluted explanation as to the way they were related was maintained through the entire series.
