One-what if Bent had succeeded in overthrowing Davis at some time?1865 would have been too late-but Bent did have a "taste for war" and genuine military ability.
Two-what if Madelin's son grew up to resent her giving his fortune away and proceeded to make a new one by sheer ruthlessness and exploitation?

Another stupid and irritating change-TCM are drastically cutting the shot with whole subplots being eliminated.
