"The Cookie Monster" Nonsense Plot Premise

"The Cookie Monster" starts with a schlocky local news report about an Atlanta cookie mogul who is launching hostile takeover bids of her local competitors. But, there's no such thing as a hostile takeover of a privately owned business. Are we supposed to believe that a bunch of local bakeries are all publicly traded on the stock market? This is the sloppiest nonsense I can remember seeing in a Matlock script.

In this instance they used the term "hostile takeover" to describe the "sell to me or I'll run you out of business through whatever means it takes" tactic being used. Although accurate, it's misleading due to its more common use related to publicly traded companies.

Jesus is the Son of God and my Lord and savior. Pretty cool.
