Too many two part episodes

I actually just started watching this series within the past year. My mama was a fan though. :) I've noticed there seems to be way too many two part episodes. It's kind of annoying even with it on everyday. I could imagine much more it would be back in the day when it was a weekly series.

IMHO (seriously, just my own) I think the writers can just get lazy sometimes and drag on a story that could easily be done in an hour. I'm thinking they just liked two parters because it was that much less ideas they had to come up with.

Any thoughts? yay or nay? 😃

It seems that became a big thing in hour long dramas for a decade or so. It worked in original
broadcast because viewers had no choice. When these shows are in syndication or watched streaming it becomes way too obvious they stretched them out and'played' us.
Now they ad subplots, some mysterious stalker usually, but they finish the main plot in the hour telecast, but some small bit nags along for a whole season. You can ignore the final scene when a cast member is alone and receives a mysterious message or text. I do and things go well.
