The Golden Roadster

I noticed in the "Glitter & Gold" story, the HOlograms and the Misfits are competing to win the Golden Roadster. First, it looked almost identical to Jem's original car. And second, anyone else notice the car already was sporting the "JEM" logo on the hood. So, if the Misfits had won, were they really gonna keep that car that way? I bet the Misfits would have pulled that hood ornament and repainted the car into something more punk!

Unfortunately instances like the car already sporting the JEM logo on the hood were very common in the '80s cartoons. I believe the Golden Roadster was a toy, and so, the animators seem to have simply used the stock design for the car, without thinking/bothering to make it look NEUTRAL before Jem and the Holograms actually WON the darn thing. As far as the animators were concerned, it was simply an ADVERTISEMENT FOR A NEW TOY, and nothing more.

And from Harsbo, the toy manufacturers' point of view, it was just another addition to the toy line, which explains why "it looked almost identical to Jem's original car" (they just modeled it on the original car design).

Forget the Misfits pulling the hood ornament.....if the car had ACTUALLY sported the JEM logo on the hood, before the competition even began, they would have leveled the entire building to the ground!! 
