How did the british cast and crew get on well with Joe Don Baker?.

Very well. Baker apparently liked the script so much he dropped his usual fee to take the part.

Troy Kennedy Martin (the writer) said somewhere that during breaks in filming Baker would roll a big joint, dress in garish golf get-up, go out and play golf for a few hours, then come back to the hotel stoned out his head.

Joe Don Baker got a BAFTA best actor nomination, worked with the director again in a few films and he is big fan of Martin Campbell who cast him in Goldeneye.

Its that man again!!
