Emma's death *spoilers*
First of all it's been a few years since I saw this brilliant example of prime British television, so what comes next might be a little hazy or inaccurate.
When Emma is gunned down we immediately assume the killer had Ron in his sights as he yells something to the effect of: "Craven! You b*****d, you bloody murdering b*****d, it's your turn now!" before Emma jumps in front of her father and the gunman promptly blows her away. Notice how he uses masculine insults instead of feminine ones - b*****d instead of b***h. If he was really gunning for Emma (pardon the dreadful pun) wouldn't it make more sense for him to yell b***h? Also, at what point did Emma ever "murder"? As far as I remember, it was her fellow activists who were murdered.
Also, concerning the gunman, do we ever satisfactorily discover his identity? I've always assumed it was McCroon as he bears the strongest physical resemblance to the mysterious hooded figure (not that there was much to see - three quarters of his face was concealed in shadow) but I'm willing to accept I'm mistaken.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
