Hi,

I have a question to anyone who has seen this movie (I never saw it myself)...what kind of movie is it?

I know...the IMDB description says "Crime / Drama / Action ", but I still doesn't have a clue. Can it be compared with something?

Is it gangstermovie (and I mean a real one like Goodfellas), action movie, kungfu/unarmed combat (since the trivia say things about Rourke's boxing skills) or a hybrid.

I really like Cimino as a director and Rourke as an actor and realistic gangster movies in general, but I don't like the standard action movie (one guy walks into a room, filled with mafia hitmen and he just eliminates the whole underworld with his fists) bullsh!t. I don't mind a shootout or something, unless it's one of the extreme "I kill the entire communist army with my M60" Rambo kind.

one cop vs. the yakuza

watch it! if you like cimino and rourke, you will love it!
as a reviewer said...one of the best movies of the 80's
