Racist????

I see the word racist popping up and am surprised, since the movie makes almost every White person, including Mickey Rourkes character, look awful. Aside from Rourke's wife, we get one corrupt or dopey White person with authority, down to regular cops. His Asian partner, the young man, is heroic. His Italian partner, and fellow White cops, are buffoons. Even the White pier cop is bad, he won't even check for heroin on a ship. The Asian female reporter, the young Asian cop, the old Asian woking in restaurant---all good and noble.

Italians are portrayed as evil, every one, and one line from Rourke on taking bribes "I'm not Italian, I'm a Pollack" is slamming two White ethnic groups at once. The Asian reporter is ruined by Rourke, who may be worst character in entire movie. So they make Whites look bad, and people say it's racist?
