Not great, but worth seeing

I picked this up for a few bucks in the bargain bin the other day, and as a John Candy fan, I am ashamed to admit that I had never even heard of this movie. After watching it, I was left with mixed feelings. It partially succeeds as a comedy, but I can't say it was a very funny film. The strangest thing about this movie is that it eventually veers into being an action/adventure film, which ultimately comes across as very haphazard and awkward. Tom Hanks has come a long way as an actor since this film was made. Even though he does a good enough job here, his character is very annoying and it is hard to root for him. John Candy is very underused in the film, but his role ends up being the best part of the movie, in my opinion.

I was once a Candy John fan, but then the biggle darks swirled about me and set their biggle spouts upon my wiggle snouts and then there was the issue, sir! Then there was the issue, yes yes! THEN IT was, the issue I say, what with all the tissue spray!
