Is it just me, or is Vision Quest a really bizarre title for a lame teen romantic flick? Shouldnt that title be left for a more existential sci/fi movie or something? Weird.
I've never seen this p.o.s., but still.

It's not just a romance. His dream to wrestle Shute is his way of making his mark on the world, his entry into adulthood, and the equivalent of the Native American spiritual rite of passage called a vision quest. Kuch partially explains it. The romance is sort of a sidebar to the main plot. It's not a quest for him to get laid.
