Would like to watch with my child?

My boyfriend and i have just gotten Vision Quest from Netflix. He has seen the movie but I have not. I have a 10 year old daughter. My boyfriend and I saw that this is rated R. Can anyone tell me why this is? Is it because of the cussing (F word) or because of a sex scene(s)?

Just cussing. There are no sex scenes.

There was one sex scene. Carla is on top of Louden and they are both lying down.

There was another scene where Louden tries to have sex with Carla in the basement and she says "Don't you ever do that again" and yells at him.

There is one sex scene. But all you see is two black silliouttes. There's another scene where a guy attempts to grab another mans penis. Another scene is where Louden tries to have sex with Carla but she pushes him off. The f-word is used throughout the movie, and a few damns used with good, and the s-word. The decision is up to you.

I don't understand why you would want to let your ten year old watch this movie?
It will be way over her head and there are hundreds of more suitable movies. Not to mention the cussing and sexual overtones.

I would be more worried about the cussing because there is nothing graphic sexually in this movie. But my parents watched this with me when I was much younger than ten. But I understood that whatever I saw in a movie, I was not allowed to curse. I think this movie is absolutely fine for your daughter to watch.

Don't be surprised if she asks you what a "wet dream" is. They also mention the clitoris. And Modine strips down to his bare butt.

But overall, this movie IS about a young man who follows his dream and the people who support him. I think so much of it goes over the head of a 10-year old though. My opinion is that 9as a measuring stick) if they're not old enough to absorb the drama parts of "Rocky" then they are too young for this film.

Yes, this movie is too much for a 10 year old. The language and some scenes are not suitable.
