Chase on Wrong Direction of Freeway
Who did it 1st? TLADILA or D.A.R.Y.L.? Seems like one must have stolen the other's idea. But they were both released in 1985...

shareWell, to be technical, D.A.R.Y.L. came out in June 1985 and TLADILA came out in November so are you saying the creators of D.A.R.Y.L. had access to the TLADILA script?
shareCan't say.....I've never seen the movie DARYL, so I wasn't even aware of this scene. I just remember seeing To Live And Die In LA and....all of a sudden....these wrong-way chase scenes were all over the place.
shareI personally have no idea which of those two movies had that particular scene written into the script first. It may not have been in either script originally, or may not have been written to be on the wrong side of the freeway on either script. But the fact that one movie came out in theaters 4 months before the other has nothing to do with anything. Films aren't shot in sequence, don't take the same amount of time to shoot, there are constant re-writes, and releases are often held back when post production is complete so that it opens against (or sometimes not against) another movie, or for a particular holiday weekend. The two movies could've been completed at the same time for all I know, or either could've been completed before the other. And of course, one or both scripts could've been largely written years earlier. Who knows.....
