Classic Friedkin

I loved this movie the first time I saw it.Still holds up 30 yrs later. Friedkin was a brilliant director, right up there with Coppola, Spielberg and the other 70's geniuses. This movie had it all, great actors, great dialogue, great music, great action and great camera work. A uniquely stylish work.

There was so much that was new and creative about this film. The style of it was one of those things. The mix of sleaze with signs of wealth, like Grimes eating in that dive lunch place, the contrast of Chance visiting his informer/sex partner in a glorified mobile home while Masters is renting this architect designed home. It covers so many bases in exploring Los Angeles. It was even a choice to do it in the winter.
