70% on Rotten Tomatoes?

I love a campy B-Horror as much as the next Horror buff, but this was so bad that it's... well, it's just bad.

The Stuff is just an example of the critics latching onto a forgotten film and trying to make it a cool, "cult" classic just to be original. Nobody liked this garbage in '85 and nobody really likes it now.

Just like Regina says to Gretchen in Mean Girls, "Fetch is not going to happen!" Yeah, well, The Stuff is not going to happen. It sucks. I'll stick to C.H.U.D.

Now THAT was some straight up David Copperfield sh_t!

reply

Sorry, but I disagree. This movie is a for sure cult classic!

"I saw it move too!"-Mo Rutherford

reply

Agreed. Watching it right now and I have to say....it's the worst movie I've seen in years. Terrible acting, terrible plotting, awful dialogue, editing and camerawork are amateurish at best.

Cult classic? No, Blade Runner is a cult classic. The Stuff is just garbage.

reply

A true classic, I loved it in the 80s and I love it now. Wish they would have made more Mo movies.

reply

I really like it. Fck you.

CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre.

reply

I liked it in 1985, and I like it now. So yeah, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I swear to God I'm an atheist.

reply

This was a pretty watchable, fun campy movie. 70% or 7/10 seems about right.

reply

Tongue is always firmly in cheek with Larry Cohen movies. Have you seen It's Alive or Q: The Winged Serpent? Very fun, and the camp is intentional.

reply

"It's Alive" and "God Told Me To" were really good... "Q: The Winged Serpent" was ok... "The Stuff" was crap.

Go to sleep and don't wake up

reply

It's a step above most b-horror movies.
