SPOILERS: Differences in Original and Final Released Version, Anyone?

For some years I have hoped to see the original cut of this that was planned for August 1984. The original poster was released and has Annie Potts billed and Music Supervision by Snuff Garrett (as did Sharky's Machine.) As we know, Potts didn't make the final cut and the final score was the memorable electronic work by Barry DeVorzon and Joseph Conlan that was among the chief assets of the film. Universal's Amazon burn-on-demand DVD even had the original credit plate, so I thought they might have unearthed the initial version, but no luck. So...can anyone elaborate on differences in these two versions? Any information appreciated.
