Those scenes with Dan and Chevy (taking the test, and the various slapstick scenes) were HILARIOUS. The problems were Landis took the "Cold War" part much too seriously and those parts were downers. Example- How long did the "Have a Pepsi" scene REALLY need to be? Just do a "Get Smart", let them walk into a phone booth and get them to HQ.

Also, some of the outdoor footage shots were way too long. Strange that there would be THAT much focus on some of what they did - it took away from Chase and Aykroyd's time.
Oh, and some of the ending was a little too much like Wargames, complete with some of those crazy early to mid 80s computer sound effects!!
