The Superbit Gift Set is $hi+

Don't get it, my bitches.

reply

Sort of agree.

The Costner "Look how great I am" feature stunk, unless (maybe) you
can't get enough of Costner. The Cleese addition is nothing but a
commercial for Sony. The making of, is the same as the original release.

The historical commentary on Silverado, on the other hand, I found
quite amusing. It's like having 3 guys in your living room, who're
western movie experts, discussing the film, its merits and its
detractions. I thought the commentary was worth the price of admission.

If you don't own the original DVD, the superbit version is probably the
one to get.

(It's still a great movie, no matter how you look at it.)

Two other features that help counterbalance the argument against:

Superbit transfer
DTS 6.0 track

But yeah, this great film deserves even more. A feature commentary by Kasdan and/or just about any of the cast members would have been a welcome addition.

Maybe the HD SE will have one. *shrugs*

On the Cleese commercial, even Mr Cleese sounded bored.
Rest of the dvd is looking good though.

Keep church and government separate. They do enough damage by themselves.

reply

Yeah. I was so excited for the 2-disc set that I threw out my little original DVD. I was disappointed.
