Costner's 'Midnight Star' - Deadwood, S.D.

Not exactly a top ten tourist trap but if you liked this movie, or any Cosnter movie (he wasn't my favorite character in Silverado):

If you happen to be visiting the Black Hills of South Dakota, be sure to go to Deadwood and go to the "Midnight Star" casino. It's sort of a Kevin Costner Planet Hollywood. The name of the casino is, of course, named after the saloon in the movie. He might have wanted to use the name "Silverado" for his casino but there's another casino up the road with that name. It's a really neat building with lots of memorabilia from his movies. The top floor is a 4 star restaurant called "Jakes". Deadwood is not far from Sturgis, Spearfish (where he filmed part of "Dances With Wolves"), and Rapid City. It's not a hotel but if you're interested in lodging in Deadwood, I highly recommend Bullock's, named after Seth Bullock. Deadwood is a neat town.

If it has lodging, but it's not a hotel, what kind of place is Bullock's?

Here's a pic from Spearfish Canyon:

I'm going back to SD this year. I'll definitely check out Midnight Star.

Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle "Dixie"?
