LOVED IT!
I'm not one for Westerns, for the most part, but I really enjoyed this one!!

I have seen several westerns, but this one is my modern favorite. Practically all the leads, this was early in their careers. They all act together so well. The quality of the production is outstanding as well.

The ONLY thing wrong with Silverado is that there isn't enough of Kevin Costner in it. I love it when he comes riding back into town, kicks in the doors to the saloon, and then comes out and double guns those thugs. Brilliant!!! He's so dang cute in that picture. That, basically, was the first thing I'd seen him in. I thought he was a little crazy (his character anyway) but so dang cute.

It's a western with a modern sensibility. Cleese is balanced (he doesn't care about morals; he's doing his job) and his first line is a great homage to Monty Python's policemen; indeed the stereotypical London Bobby:
"What's all this, then?"
I am watching it right now on AMC. It is pretty good so far. I am at the scene where Scott Glen was shooting a can and gets roped when Danny Glover comes to save him. I have never seen the Italian westerns or Josse Whales yet. My two favorites are Open Range and Unforgiven. If you havn't seen Open Range I would highly recommend it. It's my favorite western movie. Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall are great in it.
shareJust finished watching it on AMC as well. It was very good.
shareGet the special dvd of Silverado. The extra disk is really good. It tells a lot of stuff and really highlights my fav, K. Costner. Great movie. Wish they'd do a sequel...and they talk about a sequel. Kasdan is like Costner, he thinks only one movie should be done.
shareIt's a dynamic, underrated Western that deserves a bigger following.
