One of the villain's goons. Makes perfect sense, considering they're on a ranch and working with potentially hazardous animals.

He didn't have a broken arm, he got shot through the hand.

In the director's cut we learn that he was not a regular ranch hand but had various "special" duties, and broke his wrist while fisting McKendrick.
