Sequel Needed

So it's like maybe five or ten years later...Emmitt has gone back and married that widow who thought she was so beautiful. Jake is still getting into trouble however but is a deputy with Paden in Silverado. Mal has his own ranch but thugs keep stealing his cattle all the time...ok, take it from there somebody and help me out.

I would so love to see a sequel to Silverado. I was just thinking about the kind of stuff you wrote. Emmitt has married Rosanna Arquette's character and they have children. Where is Stella, the Midnight Star? I don't see her and Paden marrying but definitely they are still friends. A John Cleese cameo would be really good. Rae/Lynn Whitfield lives with Mal and she never married? Mal could have gotten married and I see a whole bunch of children-Amanda Wyss/Kevin Costner, Augie is all grown up and maybe he has children too. There would have to be a unifying theme or a disaster befalls somebody so they have to get together for one last ride, kinda an old cowboys thing? Just thinking out loud. I agree with a post from somewhere else I just found. How about it Mr. Kasdan? Mr. Costner? Mr. Glenn? Mr. Kline? Ms. Hunt? Ms. Wyss? Mr. Cleese? What about Jake Kasdan as director this time?

I forgot about Stella. I don't see what would be wrong with her hooking up with Paden. Just because she's a tiny lady doesn't mean she has to be ostricized for that. It was a quirky kind of western anyway. It might be kind of fun. I would love to see Jake's part be the biggest because he kind of got the short end of it in the first. What could happen is his girl is kidnapped by one of the old gunslingers from Jake and Emmett's past just as Jake and the girl is about to get married. She is sold to slavers who are dragging women down to Mexico or out to California and Rae is among them as well as Rosanna's Hannah, I think her name was. I don't know if any of the originals would join in but all I know is it would be great.

Of course it has now been 25 plus years since the movie came out. How about a sequel taking place in the early part of the 20th Century. They are now old and outdated like the West. Some kind of calamity occurs to one of the characters, Maybe Mal who has moved back to Chicago. So you get the crossover of the old West, and the new modern American city.

i think a sequel would have been cool...had it been filmed in the 1980's. these guys are just too old. if by chance they were to do one now, it would feel like Ghostbusters 3 feels. ehh...

Along with Pale Rider and Unforgiven, this is one of my favorite contemporary western movies. It seems that the door was open for a sequel with the last line of the film, but it never happened. IMHO, it would have had to happen in the next 4 or 5 years for it to work, with the same cast. It is just too late for it to happen now.

Now, a remake??? Could be!! Johnny Depp as Jake? Brad Pitt as Emmitt? Will Smith as Mal? Maybe a little dark (no pun intended) for Will. Who would play a good Paden?? I can't quite cast him, but it could work!

reply

NO REMAKE!!! Those are done to death. AND nobody can replace the originals. I'm saying we move it on up maybe 10-15 years later. They all have families, businesses, and so on but of course something bad goes wrong. Just no remake

reply

ehhh. hate the casting. depp's probably a bit too old. could see will smith as Mal, but it seems like if this were to be remade, we gotta think outside the box.
