When IS this?

(first of,..I know this is a fictional story)

They don't mention the war.

Blue military uniforms, but NOT the UNION BLUE uniforms.

They don't mention any known events to fill in the blanks.

Mixed costumes.

No "Ninja on a Nag" look on anyone's face.

No newspaper with a date.

My guess,.....1889 0r 1890's

NOPE! WAIT!
No bicycles

hmmm, 1885
(with the assumption that no characters bumped into or ran with Billy, Doc, Sundance, Johnny Ringo, or Arkansas Dave Rubebaugh

No earlier than about 1879- Colt started issuing the Single Action Army revolver with 4 3/4" barrel as a standard issue barrel length in that year. There are a LOT of 4 3/4" barreled Colts in this film. No later than about 1892- Winchester released the successor to the famed 1873 model in 1892. It was called (duh!) the 1892 model, and was very popular very fast. If the film was post-1892 we would likely see several '92 Winchesters. No mention of Tombstone or the Earps and Clantons, in neighboring Arizona, so I'd say 1879 or 1880 is a decent guess.
