Jeeze Paden, her old man ain't even cold yet!

They took the boy. (head injury miraculously heals)
Paden gets thrown in jail with Jake.
Paden says, "Hey, I don't belong in here!"
Jake slaps his knee and says, "That's what I told them!"
In the saloon, Jake is confronting some goon and Paden, now the sheriff steps in. Jake tells him, "All I did was kiss the girl."
Paden says, "That's what you said in Turley."
"You're not Baxter, either?"
Paden: "I'm not Holly."
Paden: "It all worked out in the end. You see, the dog is the one that sprung me."
Paden: "I always figure you might as well approach life like everybody's your friend or nobody is; don't make much difference."
Paden wasn't sheriff then. He was Stella's new partner at the saloon; his predecessor was unceremoniously "discharged" by Cobb.
