Lovely adaptation of a classic story
No comments for this beautifully told tale.
One of my favorite BBC productions, and one of Kingley's finest performances. Wait a moment, when hasn't he been brilliant?
Beautiful.

... and the sooner it gets a DVD re-release, the better.

... which reminds me of an old school friend who used to wax lyrical about his favourite record: Iron Maiden, Rime of the Ancient Marner [sic].

I got the DVD from Netflix. Very nicely done story.
It's interesting to see the difference between Ben Kingsley playing a man in his 60s and how he actually looks today. He's much sexier in real life than the 60s version of Silas Marner.
>>Oh, well that's different. Nevermind!<<

I just got the DVD from Netflix--I love this book and the story is beautifully done. My childhood neighborhood was dominated by a sect that from the outside seemed much like the one in this novel, so I devoured this book as a "slice of life." "A Scandalous Life" is also very illuminating, told some things I didn't realize about George Eliot, and as Tabbby says, it is well worth your time!
