one thing i never understood

one thing i never understood was that when this was on television airing as a heman and shera movie i could undertand the missing scenes due to the amount of time networks have but when they released it on home video and then to dvd why didnt they include the uncut version of it.when this movie aired as a 5 episode storyline of she-ra there were alot more scenes that were cut when it aired as secret of the sword.any other thoughts?

The only thing i can tell you of why so many scenes were cut from the original film that are shown when it is split into the five parts is with what an interview with the producer has him say that when they come up with the idea of making the first five episodes of She-Ra into a movie they got told by some movie theatre people that animated cartoon movies could only have a maximum amount of time on the big screen back then of what they were allowed to show of the movie. Then when the movie was shown in one piece on tv the stations interrupted with thier commercials. The one thing I can say is since the ownership of the recordings of this movie has changed hands so many times over the last 21 years it will be hard to get someone convinced to make an unedited version showing all the scenes from the five episodes. That is all I can tell you to try to help you understand what the executive producer said in the interview.

Whoa... "home video and then to DVD"? Uh... DVD already IS home video. Perhaps you meant "VHS and then to DVD."
