Before i go any further, i apologise if i inadvertently ruin any childhood memories of He-Man and She-Ra but i recently watched "the secret of the sword" and wondered if there was anything going on between Bow and He-Man? They both dress in pink, and together with the phallic imagery...just a thought!

i always got the idea that he-man was bi-sexual or bi curious, the way he hung around with the masters whilst teela couldn't get more obvious in wanting him. With regards to Bow i think he's bi-sexual but i think She-ra is too

Bow wears a goddamn heart on his chest and hangs around with that purple owl. Upon watching it recently with friends in a fit of nostalgia, we all agreed that Bow is clearly gay as a gay thing. Fortunately for Filmation, however, there's clearly no prejudice, because the straight characters are as dopey as the gay ones.

Watching 80s cartoons as a twentysomething is one of the most amusing activities you can engage in with friends. I heartily recommend it, we laughed til we cried. The combination of fond nostalgia and giggly pisstaking is awesome.

I always believed that Adam was gay. I know it was only a cartoon, but there was always reasons that made me believe that. When I watch the dvds now I see it more.

reply

i know it's just a show, but sometimes you can't help but speculate!! especially seeing as my friends and i grew up with this cartoon, so you can't help but put an educated post modern twist on things!!

Adam Gay, no, Stupid yes. As adam he could have had glimer and one or two other hotties. As He-man he could have had teela, frosta. But if I was He-man I would have had a go at the Sorceress, she had that cool deep voice those long sexy legs, and the fact that she was stuck in greyskull all those years alone ment she pobebly whould be a dynamo in the sack.

reply

i always thought He-Man and She-Ra looked like they wanted to get it on. There was a definite longing there that moved well beyond the fraternal.

Way late coming to the conversation but I always thought that He-Man and She-Ra had a crush on each other before they found out they were twins.

Well purple is the centuries old color for royalty (Adam's pants and boots which out weights the pink of his outfit.)

---Purple definition---
Purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.

According to surveys, almost 75 percent of pre-adolescent children prefer purple to all other colors. Purple is a very rare color in nature; some people consider it to be artificial.

Light purple is a good choice for a feminine design. You can use bright purple when promoting children's products.

---Pink---
Pink has only recently over the last 100 years represented little girls. Back in the 19th Century and before pink was the color for little boys and yellow and white was used for little girls.

Using Pink
Both red and pink denote love but while red is hot passion, pink is romantic and charming. Use pink to convey playfulness (hot pink flamingoes) and tenderness (pastel pinks). Multiple shades of pink and light purple or other pastels used together maintain the soft, delicate, and playful nature of pink. Add strength with darker shades of pinks and purple and burgundy.

All I can say is...you'd have to be an incredibly butch and self-confident man to pull off the pink leggings with purple furry underpants over them look in this day in age.
