shareI'll second that on Kelly Preston and Lori Loughlin. Altough Kelly played the part of popular hot girl verses Lori's girl next door I thought Lori was much more attractive than Kelly Preston. Great 80's movie no doubt

i love when you are just cleaning your room up or studying or something and you put on the tv in the background. AND you end up stumbling upon a really great film.
This film was awesome! I'm looking for more films in the 'Secret Admirer'/ 'Can't buy me love' vein. Anyone know any? They gotta be late 80s! I'm from UK so it's hard for me to strike gold, cos I didn't grow up watching them.

Here in the U.S. all movies of that type inevitably get compared to movies by John Hughes as he is the undisputed champ. Not all of Hughes movies are of the romantic/teen type but most of them are outstanding --even the non teen movies. Wow! I totally forgot I wrote that question.... Quite a long time ago now. Thanks for those movie titles. I've seen and own nearly every one on the list except 'Valley Girl' and 'Some Kind of Wonderful', both of which were on my list of 'must buy' films. To answer your question, 'Can't Buy Me Love' was the first movie of the genre I watched that I happened to catch late one night on a UK TV channel. I found out about the others most through researching amazon and imdb after I got hooked
shareIts good that you are able to find some of those 80s movies. There were a bunch of real good movies released in that decade that many people in America grew up watching and remember fondly.

theres gotta be heaps of films like that. and its only a good movie when your happy to watch it again 10 years later.
Lori the lead actress was in a film with Keanu Reeves ("The Night Before) who also in a few teen flicks as well.
An ex-girlfriend was from the UK and we spent one summer watching like 100 movies that she had never seen over there. She fell in love with this one too.
