Was anyone else shocked at the language/suggestive scenes?

Okay, well I know this came out in the 1980's, and morals had already slipped well by then, but I thought this would be a more wholesome "family" type film. I even saw some boobs in one scene. Its nice I have to admit, but for an innocent kind of teen comedy/romance I wasn't expecting that! And don't get me started on the explicit language.

But Lori Loughlin was quite the babe. I just wished they had made it a bit more innocent. Teenagers who aren't virgins? And this was made in 1985.

For Christ's sake, grow up. This movie is tame by today's standards.

Come on, don't act like an overly-affected puss clutching her pearls (or HIS pearls, as it were) over the supposedly shocking content of an 80's movie. This movie is rated R--it's not rated PG or even PG13. So if you watched an R-rated film and expected a wholesome family movie (despite that R rating) and also went into shock over language and boobs, well...that's silly to say the least.

Are you serious? I understand the OP very well. This movie shocked me as well. It really is pathetic when people try to defend movies that are clearly immoral.

Following me around on IMDb? All of this over the Skupin thing and compared to what everyone else said I barely said a damn thing about it. You're obviously just trying to be obnoxious by commenting on all of my posts with completely conflicting opinions on every comment I make. Have fun with that...I'm just going to put you on my ignore list.

I know , but it came out in 1985! Maybe its because I was only 5 or 6 years old when it was released, so I wasn't exposed to that kind of content. But I was expecting something along the lines of a slightly more provocative version of Full House. They actually dropped the F-bomb several times. It was more like Animal House than Full House.

Using your own example, Animal House was late seventies, so the fact that this was made in '85 means nothing... Boundaries had already been crossed, and judging by the standards of its era, this was pretty tame.



People were like this and worse in real life... where did you live, under a rock?

I mean, the sex scene was completely unrealistic but yet hilarious. How do you do it WRONG... so confused? That scene was tame as hell compared to what it should have been. After Debbie was such a beotch to him in the movie and overall just plain annoying they should have just made him not be able to get it up and made it a big embarrassing scene... I think that would have at least made sense at least to me.

Its an R rated movie. Language and suggestive scenes should be expected.

Sheesh, Porky’s came out in 1981. Raunchy teen comedies were everywhere in the ‘80s. Sex was the centerpiece of so many of them

- Little Darlings (1980) - two teen girls at a summer camp compete on who’ll be deflowered first.
- Risky Business (1983) - teen left home alone turns house into a brothel
- Private School (1980) - topless horse riding scene. Countless horny teen scenes
- Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) - nudity at pool, guy fantasizes and jerks off, teen has an abortion
- Mischief (1985) - this one had a very graphic sex scene with teens.

.. and that is just a sampling. I think there was more gratuitous nudity and raunchy sex scenes involving teens in the ‘80s than there is now.

It's rated R. Seemed actually pretty tame for an R rated movie.
