In real life apollo could have beat drago

Thats all I kept thinking.

Well I don't know if the film tries to make you feel any other way. I think it's just more about Apollo not being in very good shape. Still, as far as actually killing Apollo because of that reason, it might be a stretch.

I am certainly no brain expert however.

Apollo was in immaculate shape. It appeared he only lost because he didn't take the fight seriously and drago played dirty and...the fact he had to die to contribute to the storyline. But if it were real life, Apollo could have definitely won.

Apollo was in immaculate shape

Well, Carl Weathers was in immaculate shape, which could give people that impression. Besides, with a sport as quick and unforgiving as boxing, it isn't just about body fat percentage. It's also about being in good mental shape. Apollo was clearly not this. It's about being ready for every possible combo and counter an opponent has in his bag of tricks. Apollo's tactics were sloppy and most likely used as a result of his own arrogance. He hadn't fought in a real match in years, which is bound to make a fighter slower to react to certain things, especially with an opponent he has very little to study on. He didn't treat Drago like he should have. Drago was a great boxer, and Apollo fought him like he was a bum. IF Apollo trained like he did for his rematch with Rocky, maybe we see a different fight. But he didn't.

But if it were real life, Apollo could have definitely won.

Key word in that sentence being "could". Theoretically, he might have been able to. But Drago would have had every advantage anyways. There was more film of Apollo for him to study that Apollo would have had of Drago, and he was also younger, stronger, and had an entire nations resources behind his training regiment. A nation that, despite its many flaws, knows a thing or two about training superhumans. Even in his prime, Apollo would have been looking at a tricky fight.

Not even close. Drago would have absolutely wrecked any version of Apollo. Literally, the only person in the world that could beat Drago was Rocky, and the only reason Rocky won was because he was motivated to avenge Apollo's death. Without that motivation, he would have lost for sure.

Drago was meant to be Rocky's ultimate opponent ever, and he certainly was.

In real life Drago could kill both Apollo and Rocky with no problem if you mean Dolph Lundgren. Dolph is a legit bad a_ _ who competed in full contact Karate fights. But in terms of the movie Apollo took Drago very lightly. If Apollo trained the way Rocky later did maybe he would've won.

Or maybe he still would have lost but a regular knockout and not death, and before losing would have managed to do SOME damage to Drago.

Personally I think ANY version of Apollo loses to Drago. Rocky evolved beyond Apollo in Rocky 3 and he could barely beat Drago.

In REAL LIFE, Apollo would've died with the first hard punch. I'm pretty sure almost two thousand pounds of force would've cracked or straight up broken his skull.

I thought I could paint it red, but I couldn't find enough goats.
