Official - worst film I've seen
Sets like a school pantomime, and Brigitte Nielsen is so bad she makes Schwarzeneggar look like an accomplished thespian. It's just AWFUL!

You obviously haven't seen very many movies then. Go rent Deathstalker, and rethink the statement you just made. Red Sonja is a decent sword and sorcery film. You have to remember the genre your in then you have to remember not to think so hard on such a simple movie. These are fun flicks just to veg out on and laugh at.

Howard did write a character called Red Sonia, but she was completely unrelated to Conan and set in a different time period. It was the Marvel Comics writers who first combined them, I think.

Nevertheless, it's a VERY bad movie. even in the novels or the comics Red Sonja is a poor character, and conan the so-called barbarian is a queer, but in the movies they are both even worse.
Where do you find anything to laugh at in this lame film ? I found many sequence where I could cry but none where I could laugh.
And Brigitte Nielsen as Sonja is terrible as long as Red Sonja is supposed to be somewhat sexy or at least female.
Some more nude sequences in general audience american movies would be very welcome as it is very often difficult to say who is the male and who is the female character in american cinema. Some help would be useful.
I only found that what american people call a woman is a man with huge fake breasts but as long as so many men wear fake huge breasts too... Maybe USA is a women only country ?
Reproduction must be very interesting in this specie...er... I mean country
I'll say the movie perfectly illustrates Deus Ex Machina but it's certainly superior to Conan the Destroyer.
I mean really...Pearl Harbor sucked more ass than this and you know it. I mean really, it's got Ben Affleck.
Is it not funny how every and each movie has one guy in the message board starting a new conversation with a title "This is the most bad bad bad movie I have ever seen!!!!"? And then there is a bunch of other guys who say "No way, this and that sucks even more..."
shareI was about to say the exact same thing as dsnero :) Plus, chances are high that the topicstarter of such threads is a troll who just wants to generate a heated debate.
Then again, if you really think about it seriously, this is a site with thousands of users. Since everyone has a different taste, I guess it's only natural that for each movie, no matter how anticipated in general, there will be at least one person who thinks it's the worst movie ever.
For example I didn't like Clockwork Orange at all although it's considered one of the best ever. But if you check my votings you'll see that i am quite a normal guy, so ...

Conan the Barbarian was one of the funniest movies of all time. I haven't watched Destroyer because I've heard it wasn't nearly as funny, but if this movie is as bad as you say it is, it may be as great as Conan the Barbarian.
