Last night in Los Angeles I saw a double feature of Conan The Barbarian and Red Sonja. I had never seen either film. I grew up in the 80s but for some reason these films didn't appeal to me at the time. I liked Conan a lot! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Red Sonja, WOW, pretty bad!
So my question is, are the two films related in story? Arnold gives a different name in Sonja. I always thought the films were connected.
I would suggest you look at the books by Robert E Howard.

Also there was an issue with De Laurentiss rights to Conan at the time so he had to change Arnold's characters name.
