What audience was this aimed at?

Some of the characters seemed so comical that I thought this film must have been intended for children. But then the evil wizard conjured up an image of a topless dancer!

Frankly, I would have cut out that part and the occasional severed head and marketed it as a kiddie film. What adult would want to sit through that whole film?

The Xena:Warrior princes crowd I guess. I can see that this film would appeal to lesbians.

Me, when I was 12, of course - Skimpy-ish outfits, sexy women, bit of Conan, swordplay, bit of blood, action, adventure (kind-of) and.... err... what was the question again? Homework? Ah, never mind - Nintendo!

Yeah, it was made for teenage-boy-mentality audiences and those who know not to take a flick seriously, who can laugh at this stuff, or who simply need a bit of a fantasy/swordplay fix.

Topless dancer is so small, you need to look closely to get any real gratification, as you would with the (oft debated) nipple-slip earlier on. But IIRC, they don't even swear much in this so it's still pretty suitable for say PG-13, or the equivalent thereof (12 or 15 in the UK?).

Just switch off and enjoy, really. Popcorn helps :-)
