Celebrity Worship Syndrome

I don't have enough time to look over all the topics and all the threads in this forum for the movie: "The Purple Rose of Cairo" in hopes that anybody else noticed the psychological problem which Mia Farrow had throughout the movie. So it's better to write it down, what I'm looking for, from all of you movie-fans:

Celebrity Worship Syndrome is a pyschological problem, which in the history of 20th century most female fans of (1) Elvis Presly (2) James Dean (3) you name it, used to have the same problem, and hence Woody Allen has inspired from one of those Dreamy Love Story dreams and wrote this movie for those who are in love(really in love!) with stars.

But the difference in The Purple Rose of Cairo is that, the female fan of a star actor, had actually have a chance to meet with him in person. Right? Just like in the movie "Notting Hill(1999-Hugh Grant & Julia Roberts).

So if anybody else is aware of this concept, write down one more, which is about Celebrity Worship Syndrome.

I said, Notting Hill(1999), what's yours? ;)

Cheers.

It's been about 15 years since I've seen Pleasantville, but wasn't that sort of along the same lines?

As for Celebrity Worship Syndrome, I'm proud to have it. (My signature line should explain it all.)

"The Fan" (1981) starring Lauren Bacall and James Garner is a much darker take on celebrity worship.

We'll see who's the filthiest person alive! We'll just see!
