Pouring gasoline all over the car right outside the window of the shop in view of probably everyone ('cept Fackler and the older guy). Then one guy asks him for a match, lol. Then the car goes up in flames. What a sorry town, and police force, lol, even though it's only a movie. I guess that's the whole point though, Pete calls his brother Commendant Eric Lassard for some help to replace all the old out of shape officers.

I like that one old guy in the main room when Pete says "we're gonna nail these punks...," he says "Let's kick a$$!" BANG!!!!!! LMAO.

And for Fackler and the older cop to be oblivious to the whooshing sound of the flames outside.

Maybe the smell of the donuts overpowered their sense of hearing! lol

if u have the dvd of this film, u will see on the trailer a slightly different version of this scene

The whole idea of the film was that a vicious gang led by Zed was causing mayhem and the cops couldn't do too much due to them being old and tired (as Pete Lassard said). The scene was supposed to be funny that Fackler and Dooley (the older cop) didn't know what the matches were for and they don't see the car go up in flames.
